It all started with a small, late-evening meeting in my daugher’s school. Among the attendees, we formed 2 different teams.
This is what I learnt on that day:
A team consists of 6-8 students.
Each team registers at caldi.org .
There are 2 parts of the tournament: Instant challenge and main challenge.
Topics for main challenge vary from year to year. They are published on the website.
ALL the work has to be done by kids. Parents are NOT supposed to participate.
Each team has to nominate 2 appraisers, who will serve as appraisers/judges on the tournament day.

Our team had selected topic: Coming attractions (movie trailer).
We started meeting regularly, once every week. We would spend about 3 hours, doing at least 2 ICs, and some discussion about main challenge.
